Production process
Kolon has worked hard to deliver the highest-quality artificial grass. Our artificial grass undergoes the yarn production, tufting, and coating process and then go through rigorous verification and evaluation before being shipped. In the yarn production process, artificial grass that are close to real grass but won’t break easily are made. In the tufting process, grass of the same height is produced and they can be made in diverse density. In the coating process, the grass piles are coated to prevent from being pulled out, making long-term use possible. The resulting turf is then verified according to the rigorous evaluation criteria to ensure user safety. The final product is then packaged and shipped following the shipping date.

Green back coating
Kolon has striven to deliver sustainable and green artificial grass through continuous research and development.
When the market was dominated by latex backed artificial grass, we developed a heat sealable PE coated backing for the first time in the world in 2012, opening a new chapter in green artificial grass backing technology. Ever since, we developed e+ Coating and es Coating using felt for which we obtained the Green Technology certificate for proven eco-friendliness and quality. Kolon will continue the journey as we lead green innovation and creativity.

e+ / es Coating
An energy-reducing manufacturing technology for highly permeable artificial turfs that applies felt.
Turf recycling
Synthetic turfs are comprised of multiple materials including yarn, crumb rubber and silica sand. To recycle the turf, you must separate these materials and collect them. Kolon is first in Korea to establish the turf recycling (separation & collection) system and has been at the forefront of the industry action to reduce plastic waste.

Installation
Durability of artificial grass after installation is determined by the installation method and the expertise of installers. Kolon has and complies with precise installation standards for artificial grass. We have long endeavored to deliver quality artificial grass that lasts.

Pre-inspection of sports grounds
pre-inspection of the shape of the sports grounds and ground conditions, when the conditions are deemed insufficient, we carry out the leveling and supplementary works

Preparation of construction materials and tools
We check the quantity of subsidiary materials needed and inspect their quality. Then we keep them in a safe place to prevent them from being damaged by rain, freezing temperature, or fire.

Installation of drainage plates and pads
We spread the pads and let them take its course. Then we fix them to the ground according to the design.

Grass installation
We arrange and spread the grass and let them take its course. Then we glue them according to the design.

Filling the silica sand and infill
We used the brush to make the grass stand upright and fill in the silica sand and infill. Filling and brushing is carried out repeatedly by dividing the surface into different sections.

Final inspection of the installed grass
We clean up the site and perform the final inspection to ensure no defects are found in the installed grass.
