TURF
A space where dreams grow,
eco-friendly artificial grass
The only difference between artificial grass
and natural grass is that it does not grow.
What’s special about Kolon artificial grass
Kolon has numerous accredited certifications from Korea and abroad,
and it is also the first in Korea to obtain the Korean Standard (KS) certification. Ever since, Kolon has been at the forefront of artificial grass development optimized for different sports grounds, developing and launching the country’s first non infill artificial grass.
Artificial grass construction
Artificial grass is comprised of artificial grass yarn, infill (i.e. crumb rubber, silica sand) and back coating.
The product performance varies depending on the manufacturing technology.
Yarn
Artificial grass yarn undergoes a tufting process that closely resembles the way real grass is structured. Polyethylene, polypropylene, or nylon is used to make artificial grass yarn.
Infill : Crumb rubber, silica sand
Artificial grass infill is comprised of crumb rubber and silica sand that gives the turf a unique bounce to ensure user safety and maintain the performance of grass surfaces. Kolon uses styrene ethylene butylene styrene (SEBS) crumb rubber that is eco-friendly and safe for human use. They boast excellent durability and weather resistance, being 100% dust-free, odor-free, and heavy metal-free.
*SEBS: The same material used for toys (that passed the toy safety standards)
Back coating
Back coating is generally made of latex and PU coating. Among them, Kolon uses polyethylene (PE) back coating, a heat sealable barrier that is environmental-friendly and great for recycling. It efficiently keeps the shape of the grass intact and achieves durability. The PE back coating boasts great drainage (omnidirectional drainage system) and has no issue when used on rainy days.
Shock absorbing pads (optional)
Customers may add shock absorbing pads depending on the type of artificial grass selected and the purpose of using the artificial grass. We offer the highest-grade pads to ensure dimensional stability and prevent injuries.
